We are delighted to announce that Merville United boys under 14 player Shane Canning has joined Sligo Rovers Academy for the forthcoming League of Ireland season.

Shane has progressed through the age groups in Merville from age 6 to prove himself as a very talented footballer with a bright future ahead of him.

The Canning family is well known for their involvement in local sports. Shane's father Ger has given countless hours of his time to Merville United and Shane's older brother Jack has represented the club at all age levels and currently represents the club's senior men's team.
